Dr. Sanaz Hosseinabadi

Biography

Sanaz Hosseinabadi is a casual academic in the School of Architecture and Design, Faculty of Built Environment at the University of New South Wales. She teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students and is passionate about educating young creative minds to help them reach their highest potential. Her teaching explores the relationships between the history of classical architecture and contemporary events in the design world. Sanaz's main focus is to learn from the past to create complete spaces for human habitation, considering the mind, body, and spirit. With over 15 years of industry experience spanning architecture, interior design, and construction project management, Sanaz has worked with firms such as Ed Lippmann, McPhee, Leffler Simes, and Morris Bray Architects. Currently, she is with ProPlex construction company, which has provided her with a wide range of experience across diverse project typologies and scales, including individual and multi-scale residential, educational, and institutional projects. Her research focuses on psychology, particularly how the built environment can enhance human well-being and life experience. Sanaz's publications have contributed to international debates surrounding the history and theory of architecture, art of living, functionality versus aesthetics, and modernity in 20th-century philosophy.
