Biography

Sandeep Chinchali is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin and a core member of the Texas Robotics Consortium. He earned his PhD in Computer Science from Stanford University in 2020, where he was advised by Sachin Katti and Marco Pavone. Before his tenure at Stanford, he served as a principal data scientist at Uhana, a startup focused on data-driven optimization for cellular networks, which was acquired by VMware. During his academic journey, he also graduated from Caltech and worked on robotics at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He is a recipient of the Stanford Graduate Fellowship and National Science Foundation fellowships.
