Biography

Sander Bruun is a Professor at the University of Copenhagen in the Section of Plant Soil Sciences. He has extensive teaching experience, delivering courses at the bachelor and Ph.D. levels, including an introductory course on Natural Resources Ecology, basic biogeochemistry, advanced courses in environmental science, and life cycle assessment of biological production systems. Bruun has supervised various B.Sc. and M.Sc. projects and contributed to regular Ph.D. courses on isotope methods to study carbon and nutrient dynamics, as well as plant nutrition in terrestrial ecosystems. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Royal Veterinary Agricultural University in 2004, where he researched mathematical approaches for modeling organic material turnover in soil at temporal scales. His academic journey also includes studies in Biology at the University of Copenhagen and Mathematics and Computer Science in Natural Sciences. Prior to his current role, Bruun has served as an Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at the Royal Veterinary Agricultural University, and he has also worked as a Research Assistant. His research interests span various critical aspects such as agricultural production, climate change, and bioenergy.
