Biography

Sandra Araya Rojas completed her BA in Hispanic Language Literature at the University of Chile in 2011, supported by an Academic Excellence Scholarship. She earned her MA in Literature in 2015 with funding from the National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research in Chile and subsequently obtained her MEd in Educational Management from Universidad Europea de Madrid in 2017, and an MA in Communication from Universitat de Barcelona in 2018. She moved to King's College London in 2019 to pursue her PhD in Spanish Latin American Studies. Throughout her doctoral studies, she contributed to teaching Spanish language and Latin American culture at King's College London, while also working as a Senior Lecturer in Spanish at Regent's University London, an Associate Fellow at the Latin American Iberian Programme at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and a Visiting Researcher at Brooklyn College. Her research interests include Protestant women manuscript culture in the Americas, Christian feminisms in Latin America, and topics such as travel writing and food studies. She is currently preparing a monograph based on her doctoral thesis, which examines the archives of Protestant missionary women and their impact on early 20th-century feminist movements. Sandra actively engages with public outreach initiatives and has collaborated on various projects that combine academic research with social inclusion efforts.
