Biography

Sandra den Otter researches and teaches in the area of late 18th, 19th, and 20th century British history, with particular expertise in the history of colonial legal cultures, intellectual history, ideas of social welfare, and humanitarianism. She co-edits the Journal of British Studies, which publishes new research on medieval to 20th century aspects of British history from transdisciplinary perspectives. Sandra is also currently serving as Vice-Provost for Global Engagement at Queen's University.
