Dr. Sandra Eckert

Biography

Sandra Eckert has been a professor of Political Science at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg since August 2022. She previously served as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND Fellow and Associate Professor at the Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies in Denmark. She has also held positions as a junior professor for politics in the European multi-level system at Goethe University Frankfurt and has taught at multiple universities including Osnabrück University and the Free University of Berlin. Eckert's research focuses on comparative political science, European integration, and the regulatory landscape of the EU. She has published extensively, including two monographs and articles in renowned journals. Her interests span various topics such as comparative capitalism research, regulatory policies, and the interplay between economic forces and environmental concerns. She has directed significant projects examining the political culture and satisfaction with democracy in Germany and Austria in relation to the upcoming European elections, seeking to understand how institutional trust influences electoral decisions.
