Biography

Sandra Fluhrer is a Guest Professor in the Institute of German and Dutch Philology at FU Berlin since October 2024, replacing Professor Peter-André Alt. She has been a temporary academic senior advisor at the Department of German Studies and Comparative Literature at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg since April 2023. Fluhrer completed her Habilitation in January 2023 at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, focusing on General, Comparative, and Contemporary German Literature. She was a Feodor Lynen Fellow at UC Berkeley in 2021 and has held academic positions at both FU Berlin and the University of Stuttgart. Her research spans contemporary German literature and its various intersections with politics, aesthetics, and touch, as evidenced by her involvement in numerous scholarly projects and networks. Fluhrer's teaching includes courses on literary, visual, and political representations, exploring topics such as comic culture and agricultural literature. Her past projects delve into literary anthropology and the comedic relations within cultures.
