Dr. Sandra Fucile is an Assistant Professor at Queen's University, specializing in the field of Rehabilitation Therapy. Her research focus is on optimizing the health, development, and quality of life for infants born at risk of neurodevelopmental disorders, with particular attention to preterm infants. Supported by various grants from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, the Canadian Occupational Therapy Foundation, Queen's Health Sciences, and the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation, Dr. Fucile also leads the I.N.F.A.N.T. research lab based at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre. This interdisciplinary team conducts clinical investigations to improve the health and development of infants. Currently, she is involved in projects that include the development and testing of a virtually-guided infant developmental abilities screening tool and longitudinal research on developmental outcomes for preterm-born children receiving parent-administered intervention in the NICU. Dr. Fucile supervises graduate students in various related programs and is currently accepting new graduate students.
