Biography

Sandra Hasanefendic is an Assistant Professor at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where she leads the Breakthrough Technology Innovation research group. With over a decade of research experience, she specializes in R&D technology upscaling processes and sustainability. Dr. Hasanefendic has published in leading journals such as Energy Research & Social Science, Renewable Sustainable Energy Reviews, Sustainable Cities and Society, Sustainability, Technology Forecasting & Social Change, and Renewable Energy. She collaborates with startups, universities, and public institutions to translate innovations into real-world impact and is recognized as a sought-after speaker at academic conferences and industry forums worldwide. She teaches Master's courses in Business, Innovation, and Value Creation in the Life Science Industry, as well as Bachelor's courses in Research Design Methodology and Innovation Project Energy. Dr. Hasanefendic supervises bachelor projects, master's theses, and PhD candidates, with a commitment to fostering new talent in her field.
