Sandra Kiefer obtained her PhD from RWTH Aachen University, where she worked on combinatorial logical approaches to graph comparison. She received the Ackermann Award in 2021 and the EACSL Outstanding Dissertation Award in Logic and Computer Science. After her PhD studies, she served as a postdoctoral researcher at RWTH Aachen University and the University of Warsaw, eventually becoming a Research Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute for Software Systems. By September 2024, she became an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and the first David M Webb Fellow in Computer Science at Exeter College. Her research focuses on graph theory, logic, descriptive complexity theory, and their applications in algorithms and machine learning, particularly in verification and biomedicine.
