Professor Dr. Sandra Tøttenborg

Biography

Sandra Søgaard Tøttenborg is an Associate Professor at the University of Copenhagen, focusing on the intersection of environmental health and occupational exposures. Her primary research interests center on understanding how chemical exposures during vulnerable periods of fetal development influence health outcomes throughout a person’s life. She has extensive experience in register-based research, utilizing longitudinal datasets and advanced statistical modeling to study the mixture effects of chemicals. Currently, Dr. Tøttenborg leads several significant research projects, including EXCOVER, examining occupational and environmental exposures, as well as the long-term health effects of fetal exposure to chemical mixtures. She serves as the Head of the Research Department of Occupational and Environmental Health at Bispebjerg and Frederiksberg Hospital and holds an external position as Head of environmental research at Copenhagen University Hospital - Bispebjerg Frederiksberg.
