Biography

Sandra Weineland is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the University of Gothenburg with a PhD awarded in 2012 and specialist certification in clinical psychology obtained in 2013. She has served as an Associate Editor for the scientific journal Cognitive Behaviour Therapy from 2016 to 2024 and has played a central management role as an advisor and research leader in primary care for Västra Götalandsregionen (VGR). Before her academic career, she worked in psychiatry, social psychiatry, habilitation, health units, treatment centers, and health care centers. She has also chaired the Mental Health Council Södra Älvsborg VGR, leading initiatives to improve access to psychological treatments, including the successful implementation of internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Her research includes the development and scientific evaluation of digital psychological interventions and emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration for enhancing care for individuals facing mental health challenges. Currently, she supervises doctoral students in areas such as psychological treatment and behavioral medicine and is involved in various ongoing research projects funded by entities like the Kamprad Family Foundation and the Swedish Research Council (VR).
