Biography

Dr. Bogucki is board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, with a focus on Emergency Medicine. Joining Yale Emergency Medicine faculty in 1989, he has actively contributed to leadership roles within Fire Service EMS communities. He chaired the NFPA 1582 Task Group and was a principal member of the NFPA 1500 Technical Committee, and served on the Board of Visitors for the National Fire Academy. His work includes conducting on-site investigations regarding fire fighter line-of-duty deaths for NIOSH. He has been involved in initiatives aimed at improving health independence for elders through a CMS Innovations project that coordinated community resources, reducing reliance on EMS and emergency departments. In retirement, Dr. Bogucki co-PI'd a CDC grant that partnered paramedics with recovery coaches to assist patients recovering from opioid overdoses.
