Biography

Dr. Sangjune Laurence Lee is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Oncology at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary. He has an extensive background in medical training and research focused on the integration of MRI-guided radiotherapy into cancer treatment. Dr. Lee completed his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Waterloo, followed by a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, and earned his Medical degree from the University of Toronto. He undertook residency training in Toronto and a fellowship at the University of Wisconsin, specializing in real-time MRI-guided radiotherapy. His research interests encompass MRI-guided radiation therapy, deep learning applications in radiotherapy, and the management of gastrointestinal and breast malignancies. He is currently involved in research at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, focusing on the installation of integrated MRI linear accelerator systems to enhance the effectiveness of radiotherapy by increasing the dose to tumors while sparing surrounding healthy tissues.
