Biography

Dr. Yu obtained her medical degree from Medical College of Southeast University in China and her Ph.D. in Immunology from Pennsylvania State University. She completed her postdoctoral training in Dr. Gordon Freeman's lab at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School, focusing on the role of immunotherapy using PD-1 and PD-L1 animal tumor models. Dr. Yu started her residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Mount Sinai Hospital, Icahn Medical School, and finished at Tufts Medical Center and Tufts University. Following her residency, she pursued a two-year fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, dedicating a year to a general surgical pathology fellowship with a specific focus on genitourinary and soft tissue pathology, as well as a year in Cytopathology. She joined the Yale Pathology Staff in August 2023 and is particularly interested in general surgical pathology and cytopathology, specifically related to head and neck pathology. Dr. Yu has published 20 peer-reviewed publications.
