Biography

Sanjeev Kumar is a UKRI Future Leaders Fellow and an associate professor at University College London, specializing in experimental condensed matter physics with a focus on quantum transport in low-dimensional semiconductor nanostructures. He leads the Quantum Engineering Laboratory (QEL) in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, where he engineers electron wavefunctions using experimental tools at ultra-low temperatures in the presence of quantizing magnetic fields. His research includes quantum many-body investigations in restricted dimensionalities (0D, 1D, 2D) utilizing high-quality GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructures. Kumar oversees PhD students and researchers in the lab, fabricating quantum devices in cleanroom facilities and conducting experiments using world-leading tools. He is passionate about manipulating electron wavefunctions and conducting experiments in the quantum regime, analyzing the intriguing physics of interacting electrons. He welcomes inquiries from potential PhD students and researchers looking to advance their careers in this field.
