Biography

Sanjiban Choudhury is an Assistant Professor and ML Researcher at Cornell University. His research work focuses on interactive AI agents, especially exploring self-alignment and few-shot interactions between humans and their environments. His expertise includes reinforcement learning with human feedback (RLHF), imitation learning (IRL), foundation models, planning, robotics, and code generation. He leads the PoRTaL group, which aims to build everyday robots for everyday users. Dr. Choudhury has achieved significant recognition for his contributions to the field, having had multiple papers accepted to prestigious conferences like ICLR and ICRA. He has also received awards such as the OpenAI Superalignment Award and the ONR Young Investigator award, reflecting his innovative approach to teaching robots complex tasks.
