Biography

Sanjukta Deb has over 25 years of experience in the field of Biomaterials Chemistry. Her research focuses on the development of biomaterials to restore the function of traumatized and diseased tissue using innovative materials. With expertise in the clinical application of biomaterials, she has built a successful research group comprising research scientists, clinicians, and postgraduate students, all dedicated to addressing challenging problems in regenerative medicine. Currently, she holds the position of Chair in the Biomaterials Chemistry research interest group at the Royal Society of Chemistry and has previously served as the president of the UK Society for Biomaterials. Sanjukta is a founding member and Fellow of the Academy of Dental Materials and serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Biomaterials Applications in Tissue Science and Engineering. With over 100 published papers and books, as well as 7 patents, her current research projects tackle significant clinical challenges, including the design of biomimetic and bio-instructive biomaterials for craniofacial defects, development of elastomeric hydrogel networks for wound healing, and exploration of novel orthodontic etching techniques.
