Biography

Sanne van Vuuren defended her PhD thesis in March 2017, focusing on a corpus study of the pragmatic development of advanced Dutch learners’ English written production. She has worked as an assistant professor in the Department of English Language and Culture at Radboud University, teaching a range of Bachelor and Master’s courses such as Comparative Pragmatics, Information Structure, Translation, and Language Training for Specific Purposes. Her research interests encompass foreign language teaching and testing, pragmatic information-structural development in non-native speaker writing, and learner corpus research. She has collaborated in the compilation of the Dutch component of the Longitudinal Database of Learner English (LONGDALE), which consists of international corpus data from a wide variety of learners with different L1 backgrounds. Currently, she is involved in setting up the Dutch component of the Varieties of English for Specific Purposes Database (VESPA).
