Biography

Sanyukta Desai is an Assistant Professor at Dell Medical School, having completed a pediatric hospital medicine fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She also holds a master’s degree in clinical translational research, which was a part of her fellowship training. In addition to her faculty role, Desai serves as the assistant program director of the Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship at Dell Medical School and practices as a pediatric hospitalist at Dell Children’s Medical Center. Her research interests focus on improving the quality of pediatric care provided in non-children’s hospitals through the use of large datasets and quality improvement science. Specifically, she aims to optimize pediatric inter-facility transfers in partnership with health care coalitions to enhance surge disaster preparedness in Central Texas. At Dell Children’s, Desai co-leads a longitudinal quality improvement curriculum for residents and fellows and is passionate about mentoring fellows, particularly in the design of scholarly projects for their career development.
