Dr. Sara Alexanian

Biography

Sara Alexanian, MD, is a Clinical Associate Professor at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, specializing in Endocrinology, Diabetes, Nutrition & Weight Management. She completed her medical degree at Dartmouth Medical School after graduating with a double major in Biology and French Language Literature from Kalamazoo College. Dr. Alexanian has a robust academic interest centered on quality improvement as it pertains to inpatient diabetes care. In her role at the Boston Medical Center, she serves as the Director of the Inpatient Diabetes Program and oversees quality improvement initiatives related to diabetes management. Furthermore, she is actively involved in training residents and fellows, sharing her expertise in diabetes care management. Her research endeavors are documented through various grants she navigates, which include studies on insulin management in type 2 diabetes mellitus. Dr. Alexanian’s commitment to education and improvement of diabetes care demonstrates her dedication to advancing the field and ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
