Biography

Sara Elias joined the Gustavson School of Business in 2016. She has a deep passion for understanding how entrepreneurs use their imaginations to create novel ideas that reflect their past and present experiences, shaping the future through collaboration with customers, both real and imagined. Her research primarily focuses on qualitative methodologies, aiming for in-depth understanding of the experiences and challenges faced by researchers in the field of qualitative research within organizational management. Her interests encompass the exploration of novelty that emerges from entrepreneurs' thoughts, perceptions, images, and actions in relation to their environments. Bridging the literatures of entrepreneurship and organizational aesthetics, her work embraces philosophical assumptions of relationality, interdependence, and intersubjectivity. Her recent research explores the creative entrepreneurial processes that unfold in various arts entrepreneurship settings, shedding new light on the processes of creative imagination and co-creation of aesthetic value. Sara is an associate editor of the Scandinavian Journal of Management and serves on the editorial boards of Art, Culture & Entrepreneurship and Organizações & Sociedade.
