Biography

Sara Fouad Mahmoud, PharmD, earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Cairo University and her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Colorado, Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. She completed a PGY1 pharmacy residency at Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar and an academic pharmacy fellowship at the University of Southern California, Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Dr. Mahmoud has a decade of experience as a clinical pharmacist with specialties in critical care and emergency medicine. She has practiced in general medicine, cardiology, and surgery, leading various quality projects including implementing antimicrobial stewardship in urology and emergency departments. Dr. Mahmoud has precepted emergency medicine rotations for PharmD and PGY1 programs and coordinated her healthcare system's continuous professional development office. She has served as a member of the organizational scientific committee for the Qatar Pharmacy Conference and has received awards for her work in professional development and expanding pharmacy practice internationally. Dr. Mahmoud has a special interest in digital health and artificial intelligence, and she leads an AI task force, Apothecar-I, which focuses on integrating these fields into pharmacy education and clinical research.
