Biography

Sara Ehrling Moding is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Gothenburg, with a robust background in Latin and Swedish education. She completed her PhD in 2011 at the University of Gothenburg, with a doctoral thesis focusing on Late Antique Latin wedding poems in cento form. Her research explores intertextuality and genre relationship within these poetic works. Moding has participated in various research projects, including one funded by the Swedish Research Council, which investigated the earliest known French prose translation of Virgil's Aeneid, published in 1541. This project culminated in a modern critical edition co-authored with Gunhild Vidén. Passionate about Latin literature, she aims to delve deeper into the survival of classical poets and issues surrounding authorship and translation in future projects. Moding has taught multiple first-cycle courses in Latin and has continuously refined her teaching approach to engage students with linguistic structures and the context of literary texts.
