Sara Randazzo has a rich and varied career in dance performing, choreographing, directing, producing, and teaching. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University and an Associate Degree in Health Sciences from Washtenaw Community College. Sara received her Physical Therapist Assistant licensure in 2012, allowing her to assist in learning unique injuries and preventative interventions for dancers at the Boston Ballet. She is a STOTT certified Pilates instructor, both in Mat and Reformer, using Pilates to help dancers prevent injury and promote postural alignment. Sara holds Cecchetti teaching certificates for grades I-III and has studied Jazz and Tap intensively for the past 20 years with great teachers, including Brenda Bufalino, Sam Weber, Josh Hilberman, and Ed Kresley. She has choreographed for multiple dance companies, including Performing Arts Dance Theatre Howell and Company Dance Traverse. During the academic year 2002-2003, she developed a Movement Physical Education program for the Ypsilanti Public School District. Currently, she is on the faculty of Dance Arts Chelsea and directs the Randazzo Dance Company, previously known as Ypsilanti Area Dancers. Additionally, she founded and directs the Sole Full Rhythm Tap Ensemble, which tours schools and performs at festivals, contributing to the promotion of Jazz and Tap as uniquely American art forms.
