Biography

Sara Roberts is an independent exhibition curator with a proven track record in projects that reveal the creative processes of craft. Notable works include 'Hand Eye' at Winchester Gallery, which documented the creative processes of six artists through film, and 'Setting Scene: New Landscapes Craft' at Crafts Study Centre, an expansive immersive installation. Her consultancy work includes collaborating with Arts Council Wales and the National Trust on artists’ residencies at Penrhyn Castle. In 1993, she curated the Chemistry Set exhibition, exploring the influence of readily accessible information on patination of metals and its impact on studio crafts and wider architecture. Currently, she is co-curating 'What Colour Metal?', an international design and craft exhibition focusing on the craft of studio silversmithing and jewellery, in partnership with Dr. Cóilín O'Dubhghail from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin. Roberts has held various roles, including speaker for guided tours at Gallery Castle and contributing to the cultural production for Southampton's bid for City of Culture 2025.
