Biography

Sara Ross is an Associate Professor at the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University and serves as the Associate Director of the Marine & Environmental Law Institute and Director of the Marine & Environmental Law Program. She holds the Yogis Keddy Chair in Human Rights Law. Ross has held teaching positions at Osgoode Hall Law School and the Peter Allard School of Law at UBC. She has a distinguished academic record as a prolific author with publications in respected journals such as the Canadian Bar Review and the Yale Journal of Law & Humanities. Her recent book, 'Law of Intangible Cultural Heritage in the City', was published by Routledge in 2019. She is an active participant in international research conferences across Europe and Latin America, and has served in several editorial roles, including Editor-in-Chief of the McGill Law Journal. Ross received recognition as one of the 'Top 25 Influential Lawyers' in Canada by Canadian Lawyer magazine and received the Excellence Award for Female Trailblazer of the Year at the Canadian Law Awards in 2024.
