Professor Dr. Sara Sangtarash

Biography

Sara Sangtarash is an Associate Professor in the School of Engineering at the University of Warwick and a Leverhulme Fellow. She obtained her PhD from Lancaster University, where she was a Marie-Curie Early Stage Researcher. Her research focuses on nanoscale transport and molecular electronics, and she has contributed significantly to the development of theories related to molecular-scale thermoelectricity. After completing her PhD, Sara became a Senior Research Associate in the Physics department at Lancaster University and was awarded the Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowship. She joined the University of Warwick in 2020. Her research interests include graphene-like molecules, quantum interference, and spintronics. She has published several important papers in this field, presenting novel insights into the properties and applications of graphene nanoribbons and their potential in nanoelectronic devices. Sara's work incorporates deep learning techniques to advance her research in molecular electronics and sensing applications.
