Biography

Sara Wharton is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Windsor, where she has been since July 2014. She specializes in International Criminal Law and Transnational Criminal Law, with particular interests in Public International Law, International Humanitarian Law, and Canadian Criminal Law. Prior to joining the Faculty of Law, Professor Wharton was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National University of Singapore from 2013 to 2014 and a Visiting Fellow at the University of New South Wales in Sydney. Her academic journey includes the completion of a PhD at the University of Cambridge, an LL.M. at Harvard Law School, a J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School, and a B.A. (Honours) from Queen’s University. Additionally, Professor Wharton has practical experience as a legal intern at the International Criminal Court in The Hague in 2012. She has been a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and was called to the Bar in Ontario in 2007. Professor Wharton teaches various courses, including those in Canadian Criminal Law, Access to Justice, and International Criminal Law.
