Sara Wong graduated from the University of Nottingham with a Vice Chancellor Research Excellence funded PhD in 2021. Her doctoral research investigated the modulation of oxytocin brain penetration through intranasal delivery using a novel conjugate peptide in cellular acute models of schizophrenia. Following her PhD, she maintained her interest in behavioral neuroscience and neuronal circuitry by joining the Dementia Research Institute. Currently, she works in the Franks-Wisden laboratory and the Care Research & Technology Centre at the University of Surrey, specifically focusing on the Surrey Sleep Research Centre. Her ongoing project investigates the circuitry microstates associated with REM sleep and their importance in mood regulation from preclinical and clinical perspectives. Sara is also passionate about science outreach and engagement, having organized events and collaborated with organizations such as the Brilliant Club, Imperial Summer School, Alzheimer's Research UK, London Network Open Day, and the National Brain Bee competition during the Imperial College London Great Exhibition Road Festival.
