Biography

Sarah Adcock is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Animal Welfare Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She earned her Ph.D. in Animal Behavior from the University of California-Davis in 2020, and holds an M.Sc. in Cognitive Behavioural Ecology from Memorial University of Newfoundland, completed in 2014, and a B.Sc. in Biology from McGill University, awarded in 2012. Her research focuses on evaluating how farm practices affect animal behavior and physiology, developing strategies to optimize outcomes, and understanding the interconnections between animal welfare, socio-economic, and environmental challenges at both local and global scales. She aims to achieve sustainable and socially responsible food production that benefits both humans and animals. Sarah employs interdisciplinary approaches that span biological, social, and engineering sciences in her work.
