Biography

Sarah Brailey is a GRAMMY Award-winning soprano and voice instructor at the Mead Witter School of Music, University of Wisconsin-Madison. Renowned for her unique vocal qualities and extensive performance experience, she has appeared as a soloist with prestigious ensembles such as the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and has performed in venues including the Louvre in Paris. Her career spans diverse projects, reflecting her versatility as a vocalist, educator, and recording artist. Notable performances include the world premieres of works by contemporary composers and collaborations with leading orchestras and artists. As an educator, Brailey is committed to guiding students in discovering their artistic voices through a flexible vocal technique, fostering musicianship and artistic expression. She founded C8dence, a vocal chamber ensemble focusing on contemporary repertoire, offering students the opportunity to arrange and compose works. Brailey has conducted master classes across several esteemed institutions and is dedicated to building artistic communities, notably as the co-founder of a concert series in Madison that showcases emerging singers. Beyond her music career, she supports various environmental organizations and maintains a farm with rescued animals.
