Biography

Sarah Brierley is an Associate Professor at the London School of Economics specializing in Comparative Politics. Her research focuses on issues of state, corruption, and electoral politics in sub-Saharan Africa. She is currently working on a book manuscript that explores how the public sector remains politicized despite meritocratic recruitment among top bureaucrats in Ghana. Prior to her position at LSE, she served as an Assistant Professor at Washington University in St. Louis. Brierley holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.
