Biography

Sarah Park Dahlen joined the School of Information Sciences at the University of Illinois as an associate professor in August 2021. She previously served as an associate professor in library information science at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota. Dahlen's research focuses on Korean adoption children's literature, and she is recognized for her contributions to diversity in children's literature and library education. She has co-edited scholarly works and contributed to various journals, highlighting issues related to transracial adoption and the representation of diverse voices in literature. In addition to her research, Dahlen has been active in mentoring and teaching, receiving awards for her excellence in these areas. She holds a Master's and PhD in Library Information Science from the University of Illinois, as well as a Bachelor's and Master's in Asian American Studies from UCLA. Her scholarly work includes publications on Asian American youth literature and presentations at international conferences.
