Biography

Sarah Fraser pivoted her life when her grandmother was diagnosed with cognitive impairment, which ignited her desire to understand the underlying causes and prevent similar occurrences in others. This pivotal moment led her to alter her career trajectory, prompting her to study multitasking behaviors at Concordia University under Drs. Li and Penhune. After earning her PhD in Psychology, with a focus on cognitive aging, she furthered her studies through postdoctoral fellowships exploring neuroimaging techniques and qualitative research on sensory impairments at Institut de gériatrie de Montréal and McGill University, respectively. Currently, as an Associate Professor, she aims to guide new students in their thesis work, fostering interdisciplinary research in the fields she is passionate about. Her research interests encompass Cognitive Aging, Neuroimaging, Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS), Ageism, Mobility, and Multitasking.
