Biography

Sarah Gregson is a labour historian who has been teaching in the School of Management and Governance at the University of New South Wales since 1995. Her research encompasses a variety of topics related to workplace safety and social history, including the Titanic sinking, aircraft maintenance engineering work, supply chain safety, and the memorialization of labor. One of her latest projects focuses on the West Gate Bridge disaster, examining the bridge's collapse during construction with a particular interest in labor memory and the philanthropic approaches to supporting victims' families, as well as lessons for ongoing workplace health and safety actions. Gregson also teaches and serves as the president of the National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU) UNSW branch.
