Biography

Sarah Kreps is an Associate Member of the Law Faculty and the John L. Wetherill Professor in the Department of Government at Cornell University. She is also a Faculty Fellow of the Milstein Program on Technology and Humanity at Cornell Tech Campus in New York City. Kreps has authored five books, including her forthcoming work on International Politics from Cambridge University Press. Her notable publications include 'Taxing Wars: The American Way of War Finance and the Decline of Democracy' (Oxford University Press, 2018), 'Drones: Everyone Needs to Know' (Oxford, 2016), 'Drone Warfare' (Polity, 2014), and 'Coalitions of Convenience: United States Military Interventions in the Cold War' (Oxford, 2011). Her research has been published in leading political science journals such as the American Political Science Review, World Politics, and International Security, and in prominent policy outlets like Foreign Affairs and Foreign Policy. Kreps has also held fellowships at the Council on Foreign Relations and Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, and she was a life member of the Council. In addition to her academic career, she served on active duty in the United States Air Force from 1999 to 2003.
