Biography

Sarah McKetta is a social epidemiologist whose work is centrally focused on using novel measurement to expose hidden disparities and ultimately inform policy interventions to advance population health. Her research addresses social exposures at multiple levels, from individual to structural, with particular topics of interest including behavioral health (with a focus on alcohol, sexual health, and mental health), women’s health, and LGBT health. She has extensive expertise in the development of new measures of structural stigma, encompassing issues related to structural racism, homophobia, and sexism. Ongoing projects include examining shifting population trends in women's alcohol use, identifying lifecourse structural determinants of women's drinking, and analyzing the mental health impact of restrictive reproductive policies.
