Dr. Sarah Myers

Biography

Dr. Sarah Ann Myers is a Professor of Dermatology at Duke University, where her clinical practice focuses on medical dermatology, particularly for immunocompromised patients. She has dedicated her career to addressing dermatologic issues in HIV+ patients and those who are solid organ transplant recipients. Dr. Myers established the Duke Dermatology Transplant Clinic, aimed at providing early detection and prompt treatment of skin cancers in solid organ transplant recipients (SOTRs). Her efforts include facilitating risk assessments, patient education, early biopsies, and coordinating care that encompasses surgery and oncologic therapies when needed. In 2022, she transitioned from outpatient services to the Durham VA Health System, where she continues to provide inpatient dermatology care, serving on the consult team for hospitalized patients with skin diseases. Her work has been instrumental in improving early interventions for skin cancer in vulnerable populations.
