Dr. Sarah Perman

Biography

Sarah M. Perman, MD, MSCE, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Yale School of Medicine. She received her medical degree from Temple University and completed her emergency medicine residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Perman subsequently completed a Resuscitation Research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Resuscitation Science, where she also obtained a master’s degree in clinical epidemiology. She has previously been a member of the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Colorado and has actively participated in various organizations, including the American Heart Association, where she has held significant roles. Her research primarily focuses on disparities in cardiac arrest outcomes, complex decision-making in post-cardiac arrest care, and post-cardiac arrest care techniques. Additionally, Dr. Perman’s clinical interests emphasize post-cardiac arrest care and acute critical care within the emergency department. She has received funding from the National Institutes of Health and other foundations to support her work in this vital area. Dr. Perman has published extensively and is recognized as a Fellow of the American Heart Association, reflecting her contributions to the field of emergency medicine and her commitment to advancing health equity and women's health through research.
