Sarah Rand graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Physiotherapy in 2003 and previously completed a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Natural Sciences (Physiology) at Trinity College, Dublin in 2000. Prior to her academic career, she worked at Great Ormond Street Hospital as a specialist cystic fibrosis physiotherapist and clinical physiotherapist. In addition, Sarah has experience in clinical roles including working as a specialist paediatric respiratory physiotherapist at various institutions. She is also a member of the External Advisory Board at the School of Physiotherapy, RCSI, and serves on the Scientific Advisory Board for the Active Pregnancy Foundation charity. In 2018, she received the Inspiring Excellence Award from RCSI.
