Professor Dr. Sarah Tierney

Biography

Sarah Tierney is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Ottawa. She is a Clinician Investigator at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute and serves as the Corporate Lead for the Acute Pain Service at the Ottawa Hospital. Dr. Tierney completed her medical degree at Queen's University in 2012 and received her Specialty Certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2017. In 2018, she completed a fellowship in Regional Anesthesia at the University of Toronto. Her research interests include ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia, acute pain medicine, and transitional pain medicine, focusing on advancing pain management techniques and improving patient outcomes in various clinical settings. As a dedicated educator and researcher, she is committed to contributing to the field of anesthesiology and enhancing the training of future medical professionals.
