Dr. Sarah Van Mastrigt

Biography

Sarah van Mastrigt is an Associate Professor in the Department of Criminology at Aarhus University, specializing in criminology and applied social psychology. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Psychology from the University of Calgary and a Master of Philosophy and PhD in Criminology from the Institute of Criminology at Cambridge University. Her research focuses on the development and prevention of offending throughout the life course, restorative justice, sexual assault, social psychology, crime, and punishment. Sarah leads the Research Unit Evidence-based Crime Prevention Practice (RECaP), coordinating interdisciplinary projects in collaboration with police and community organizations. She is actively involved in teaching and supervision, contributing to the understanding and development of social psychology and criminology. In addition to her research output, she has participated in various activities including lectures, peer review of manuscripts, and membership in academic committees and councils.
