Dr. Saral Mehra

Biography

Saral Mehra serves as the Chief Section Head of Neck Surgery and the Director of the Fellowship in Head and Neck Oncologic Reconstructive Surgery at Yale School of Medicine. He is renowned for his expertise in treating patients with head and neck tumors, salivary gland diseases, and thyroid conditions, particularly those resulting from cancer. Dr. Mehra’s clinical practice emphasizes minimally invasive surgical techniques, including transoral robotic surgery. He actively engages in health services research aimed at improving quality of care for head and neck cancer patients. Dr. Mehra earned his Medical Degree and Masters in Business Administration from Columbia University and completed his residency in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He was awarded the Yale Cancer Center Award for Excellence in Clinical Care in 2023, recognizing his commitment to high-quality patient care. Dr. Mehra has over 100 peer-reviewed publications and frequently presents research at national and international conferences, further contributing to the fields of head and neck surgery and health care management.
