Biography

Sarath Abeysekera has been with the University of Manitoba since January 1, 1985. He teaches Corporate International Finance and conducts research focusing on asset pricing models, exchange rate parity, and international markets. His papers have been published in prestigious academic journals including the Southern Economic Journal and Financial Research, among others. He actively presents work at international conferences and currently investigates issues related to Emerging Stock Markets, utilizing the Colombo Stock Exchange in Sri Lanka as a case study. This region remains a relatively unexplored area within international capital markets. Abeysekera has also received grants from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council and the Centre for International Business Studies to support his research endeavors.
