Biography

Sarfraz Khurshid is a Professor and the holder of the Leland Barclay Fellowship in the Chandra Family Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. He completed his PhD in Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Prior to this, he obtained a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science from Imperial College London, and he also undertook Part III of the Mathematical Tripos at Trinity College, Cambridge. He has received several prestigious awards, including the ACM SIGSOFT Impact Paper Award in 2012 and multiple ACM SIGSOFT Distinguished Paper Awards for contributions made at ISSTA 2002 and ICSE 2010. Additionally, he was honored with the Practical Paper Award at the IEEE Security and Privacy Symposium in 2014 and the Best Research Paper Award at ASWEC 2009. Khurshid's research areas mainly focus on Software Engineering Systems, with particular interests in software testing, specification languages, code conformance, model checking, and program analysis.
