Dr. Saria Hassan

Biography

Saria Hassan, MD is an Assistant Professor at the Yale School of Medicine, specializing in General Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She has contributed significantly as the Director of the Pediatric Global Health Track and as the Deputy Director of the Yale Transdisciplinary Collaborative Center for Health Disparities. Dr. Hassan's clinical experience includes work as a Primary Care Physician in underserved areas of New Haven, CT. Her research interests focus on using implementation science frameworks to design, implement, and evaluate interventions that address and reduce cardiovascular risk disparities globally. Her current projects entail multi-site diabetes prevention interventions in the Caribbean and developing strategies to combat morbidity and mortality caused by non-communicable diseases in the context of natural disasters. Dr. Hassan is also involved in educational initiatives aimed at strengthening capacities in low-and-middle-income countries. She holds board certifications in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, and has an extensive academic background with degrees from Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
