Dr. Sasan Barak

Biography

Sasan Barak is a Lecturer in Business Analytics at the University of Southampton. He has a rich background in finance and business analytics, with a particular interest in forecasting and machine learning. His research focuses on financial machine learning, including portfolio optimization and algorithmic trading, as well as statistical machine learning algorithms and deep learning approaches. Sasan has conducted significant research in forecasting model selection using meta-learning techniques and has been involved in various international lectures across Europe and the Middle East. He has received multiple international research grants related to multi-criteria decision making and multi-objective optimization. Additionally, Sasan has published his research in leading analytics journals, and he is an active reviewer for several academic publications. He has previously held positions as a Research Assistant and Associate Lecturer at Lancaster University Management School, where he contributed to the Centre of Marketing Analytics and Forecasting. Sasan's educational background includes a PhD in Management Science from Lancaster University, along with double PhDs from the Technical University of Ostrava and the University of Bergamo. He is also the CEO and Founder of Deep Finance Capital, specializing in algorithmic trading strategies.
