Professor Dr. Sascha Feldmann

Biography

Sascha Feldmann is a faculty member in the Laboratory for Energy Materials at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. His research integrates ultrafast magneto-chiroptical spectroscopy with materials chemistry to revolutionize energy production and consumption. His work focuses on symmetry breaking concepts in novel soft semiconductors and nanomaterials to control charge, spin, and light in printable materials. He aims to uncover design principles that facilitate the creation of low-cost, efficient, and flexible solar cells as well as ultra-bright displays, paving the way for groundbreaking applications in quantum information technology. He has held various prestigious positions in academia including Independent Research Group Leader and Rowland Fellow at Harvard University, as well as EPSRC Doctoral Prize Fellow at Cambridge University. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics and both B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Chemistry from Heidelberg University.
