Biography

Alexander Pogromsky is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His areas of expertise include stability of nonlinear systems, dynamical systems control, manufacturing networks, hybrid systems, and soft robotics. His research interests particularly focus on the theory of nonlinear adaptive robust control and nonlinear oscillations. Pogromsky earned his MSc degree with honors from the Baltic State Technical University in Russia in 1991 and went on to obtain his PhD from St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University in 1994. He has a strong background in control complex systems, having worked at the Institute of Problems in Mechanical Engineering in St. Petersburg between 1995 and 1997. Following this, he was a research fellow in the Department of Electrical Engineering, division of Automatic Control at Linkoping University in Sweden from 1997 to 1998, and has held visiting researcher positions at esteemed institutions in Russia. His contributions to the field demonstrate a commitment to advancing understanding and application of control theories in engineering contexts.
